Nyx didn't know Cid and his family personally, only in brief conversations and passing comments about Cid and Hammerhead. Nyx was taken straight to Insomnia and hadn't been outside the crown capital aside from missions - which weren't ever the leisure kind. Everyone knew about Regis and his group of loyal friends, much like Noctis and his bros. Which was why Nyx came on the double to alert Cor, he knew the man would know what to do and would be the best guy to tell the King.
